In early 2022, I was analyzing my clothes to determine what styles I wanted to emulate as I began constructing clothes from scratch. These pages describe the process of downsizing, retrieving information, and understanding what I am attracted to / want to replicate. It is useful in understanding the mind of a hoarder, and what it took to move things along. I don't know how much valuable data there is, but I can’t believe I did it just to make myself feel better and not actually use it.
"The Capri Pant I so dearly liked is very cheap and i have given up on their salvageability. They will be retired so that a newer, better version may arise"

STYLE OBSERVATIONS
There is an affinity for strong lines and almost graphic appearance, like a cartoon. Function and style, adaptability. This breakdown leads to a fascination with vertical lines and informs my taste for princess seams. There are key points, crests and troughs, along the orbit of the body where these lines intersect most fashionably.

On July 29 2022, I wrote “To be rid of (donate) all (most) my “Reference Clothes”…
Be rid of pieces that are disfunction, therefore useless when either of the following conditions are met:
*Fabric is of low quality or overall cheap build
*The garment does not fit and I have no intention of making it fit
Why I have kept them is often related to how I acquired them in the first place:
*Thrift store finds I thought were cool
*Most comes from my mom’s shopping addiction which may remind me of youth
*I saw some value in the design to use as reference
*It is difficult to let go of things that have comforted me in some way”
