Fionna's Ideal Outfit and Suitcase June 2022

Ideal Basic Day Wear June 2022

I began making a shirt around this time that would fail ultimately. I was almost done with it leading up to this trip and still optimistic about finishing it. The construction of this shirt included “six unique components, seven in total, and four composite pieces”. Not that any of that makes any sense to me now. The fabric I used for this shirt was from the 2021 order of synthetic fabrics. I was inexperienced with working on very stretchy fabric, and this would ultimately be my downfall. I used a lot of zigzag stitches and refrained from straight stitches though it never came together fully.

It would have been the perfect sun-protective long-sleeved shirt that would be wearable near the equator. Ideally, a shirt should be able to protect from neck to write and hip from sun exposure. This design incorporated thumb holes at the end of the sleeves for hand coverage.

I followed the same thought process in my drawing of perfect pants; it shields the sun from hip to ankle. This conception features a second layer on top that ends at the knee. I don't remember why.

Layering accessories from crown to chin provides the head, neck, and shoulders sun protection. The ideal head outfit is hat, glasses, and face protection.

If shoes are worn, then they should protect the top of the foot from light.

I note my appreciation for exterior seams. On the back of the last page in the original document are sketches of pajamas with graphic seams and borders. This would lead to my first successful clothes design in 2025. I have not yet attempted making pants as of April 2026 and still have not made a successful shirt. The only successful attempts at garment making have been the gloves I made in 2024 and the dresses I made last year 2025. I am confident that this is the year my wardrobe comes together as a star emerges from the clouds.

Begin “packing for Saint Croix” (wardrobe, accessories, necessity theory from life). June 18th and 19th 2022.

This would be the last trip we would take as a family and ended quickly for me since my partner got sick immediately. All I remember is the one night I was there, with a lot of alcohol and fighting.

The basic set of clothes would be 1-3 short sleeves, one belt, 1-2 shorts, 1-2 swim trunks, 3 long sleeve (sun protection) shirts, 1-2 long pants, 6 pairs of underwear, 6 pairs of socks, 4 gators, 3 bucket hats, 1 pair of sunglasses. My wardrobe would include 2 dresses, 1 big hat, comfortable sleeping attire, and 2 to 3 bikinis. 1 backpack each. 1 camera and art bag. Fanny packs are convenient.

Chemicals include bug spray, sunscreen, Neosporin, toothpaste, deodorant, face wash, lip balm, and SPF balm. Tools include phone charger, wallet, phone, toothbrush, toothpicks / flossers, hair clips / ties and brush, gauze tape, and band aids.

My usual sewing bag is a vintage makeup bag which became a camera bag and purse / carry-on for this trip.
